16-19 Tuition Fund 2024-2025 Academic Year
In line with Government guidance, we are publishing this statement to demonstrate how additional funding for 16 to 19-year-old students will be used in the 2024- 25 funding year.
The additional funding made available to Priory Lincoln Academy will be principally be used to provide support via small group tuition for specific cohorts of 16 to 19 students in English, maths, and other courses where learning has been disrupted. On occasion, we may provide one-to-one support.
Eligible students will be those identified by the Government as disadvantaged, meaning those who:
- have not achieved a grade 4 or 5 in English and/or maths
- have a grade 4 or above in English and/or maths, are from an economically disadvantaged background and need catch-up support.
The subjects covered in the tuition will not be limited to English and maths. Subject to the availability of funds, we may also offer support to students with a grade 4/5 who also need catch up support. Learners in need of catch up support will be assessed and identified by the Mr M Pitts They will refer learners to the relevant small group catch-up session as per their specific identified needs.
Small group delivery will generally be undertaken in separate classrooms and include no more than 5 learners. However, on occasion it may be necessary for two separate groups with separate staff to use the same space. Where space is a premium or we encounter staff absence or need to make more effective use of specialist staff we may increase the class size to 7 on an ad-hoc / short term basis. We will always consider the impact on the quality of delivery before implementing such measures.
